Oh by the way, a day before that we brought him to this school, just to show him the whereabout of this school. It was Sunday, nobody at the school of course....his reaction was "this school is spooky...!" hehehe....now that's imran
Day 1:
He was curious...a bit nervous...then he asked.."are we going to that spooky school?" We told him there's nothing spooky about that school, you'll see there will be lots of children, boys and girls in that school..he's not convince until he was in the school...he said "so this is what behind the door (gate)"....went to see the teacher, very helpful and professional....the headmistress was also very friendly..then she brought us to see the supervising teacher for dyslexic kids...Cikgu Lisa..so imran was left there and was told he will be in standard 4 as according to his age...after school, he told us he had 2 friends, and school is lame...oh no...
Day 2:
He seems hesitated a bit...showed us his class, but did not look that happy...and i started to feel uneasy...then we met Cikgu Lisa, she told us she wanted to do another assessment next week because she felt imran couldn't coop with the standard 4 level...according to her, dyslexic student will be in classes according to his level and ability...but if he shows a very good improvement then he can jump another level....in fact being dyslexic, he can take UPSR at any age whenever the school feels appropiate...we feel at ease a bit
Day 3:
He started to cry before taking bath...a night before that he told his baba that some of the kids called him loser...it broke our heart when we heard that....reaching school he said the school is not real...we brought him to his class and leave him there...but he looks scared...then we saw Cikgu Lisa, requesting her to do the assessment as soon as possible...she told us she had done that but she felt dissatisfied with the result and planning to do it again...we told her that imran was already depressed and worried...she told us that imran will be placed in a special class called "kelas pembelajaran" to restore his confidence..once he is confidenct enough only then the school will decide again which level he will be..in fact she told us that teachers complaints that Imran is not responding in the class..when Imran came back, he told us that teacher i.e Cikgu Lisa brought him to "upstairs class". He told us he slept in that class and the teacher permitted him to do so.
Day 4:
We waited for Cikgu Lisa...suddenly there was an annoucement asking all the students to gather at the hall. We have no choice but to bring him to the hall eventhough a bit confuse which class he should be in...and we meet Cikgu Lisa and the kind Penolong Kanan Pendidikan Khas, Cikgu Suzana. Cikgu Suzana told us that they had already assessed Imran and decided to put Imran in 'kelas pembelajaran" until his confidence level restored. She asked whether that will be okay....and we definitely said yes...of course it should be for Imran's interest. Later Cikgu Lisa showed Imran's new class...and she told us that Imran was with her the whole day yesterday and was surprised that he talks a lot...but too fast...like cartoons...hehehhe....she was impressed actually because it was contradicted with the feedback from the teachers as if Imran is a total zero....and we were impressed with these 2 teachers because after knowing started feeling depressed and worried, they immidiately pulled him out fr0m the normal class....two thumbs up...meaning they understand the dyslexic mind...
Day 5:
Imran a bit hesitated....but there were no worries on his face..when asked how's school, he replied "yeah....teacher is not mad at me anymore..." we were so grateful for the school's quick action and for their professionalism and understanding....and we knew this is the right school for imran...congratulations SK TTDi 2...!
Above all, parents and guardian with dyslexic child, please please and please find a school with this dyslexic facilities because only them can accept and understand the condition of our children...there is no easy path, but there will always be a way...insyaAllah
