Teaching Imran Reading

How many of us think that it is easy to teach your children reading? Some may think kids will learn to read as they grow up...it comes naturally to them. I was once had the same taught that my son will eventually read...but not anymore...not to me...not in imran's case....however it is challenging...it challenge my understanding, my maturity and my intelligence ability..challenges push me to do it..i keep finding the solution teaching imran to read..i know the technique is called phonic reading...but where are the source and materials??? i was then told about fitzroy...an australian company that created the phonic system reading materials and widely used in the australian schools...they were using this system since the kids were in kindergarten...very sad...it is not being used in malaysia...people would give me "a question mark" look when i said about phonic reading method. In Malaysia, this method falls under special education system only...and to the dyslexic kids only...

Until one day my dear friend Hani whose first newborn is dyslexic (genetically from her husband who is also dyslexic who end up became a very talented architect) gave me a website called "starfall.com". This is exactly what i need....to teach imran, i must know the technique...this is the challenge...i have started using it..within 3 days imran is already familiar with the sound of alphabet from A-L...he enjoyed it...i could see from his eyes that it was not difficult for him...he could understand the system...soon i will teach him reading..let's face the challenge together my dear son...soon you will read like nobody business...above all, i am grateful to Allah for giving me this chance and guidance..only He knows what is deep inside my heart as He is All-Knowing...Alhamdulillah..
