Imran went for his tuition session today (despite of his refusal to go and keep on saying i dont like tuition). When i came to fecth him the teacher told me "i gave him an exercise on math: backward calculation and i leave him to do it while i attend to another student. when i came back and was about to instruct him to do another part of the calculation, imran said DONE.." and he did completed the whole exercise and he did it all correct...i was so proud of him..
i did mention that imran (being dyslexic) had a problem when it came to reading...and when he reads, he was so careful trying to avoid from making a mistake to the extend sometimes asking us to read for him..however he is so comfortable with numbers...(he likes britney spears song called 3...the song has numbers in it...it says...one..two..three ) in fact was praised by several teachers and some said he is a math genius..
according to several people that i spoke to about dyslexia, sometimes dyslexic people have a talent which is extraordinary as compared to normal people..it can be science, art, numbers etc .. for example figures like einstein, keira nightly, tom cruise, daniel benningfield were some people who were talented in their fields but not many of us know that they have dyslexia. Meaning that dyslexic people are not losers...to prove this need a lot of patience and courage down the road in overcoming the normal world obstacles ..the path taken will lead to success if people understand what is going on their dyslexic minds..
as for imran, we are still looking and searching of what is his talent and interest. From there, we can support, encourage and guide him so that he can achieve something in his life which he is good at despite of his responsibility of being dyslexic..something that give meaning to him..imran, we love you so much and we will never give you up...
